Once again Scheveningen will be the finishing port of a major international maritime event - Liberty Tall Ships Regatta Rouen – Scheveningen 2019. Tall Ships like Barques, Brigantines and Frigates are big traditional vessels that have sailed the oceans for many decades. Many of these ships will be coming to The Hague for the first time.
In 2019, the Liberty Tall Ships Regatta departs from Rouen, Normandy and sails to Scheveningen, The Hague. For the first time in its history, Scheveningen expects a fleet of more than 30 Tall Ships from more than 15 countries. These ships sail around the world and often can only be seen at major international maritime events. Of course, the local Tall Ships, Barque Europa and the Minerva, will be present.
The Liberty Tall Ships Regatta honors the international liberation of Europe that began 75 years ago, and so this event is the kick-off for a year of festivities around 75 years of liberation. This is a unique opportunity for The Hague, Scheveningen and the Netherlands to become the world’s focus, and the event is a perfect platform to give your relatives or employees a unique experience.
The programme includes:
Four days of activities! You have the option to have a deck party on one of the ships in port or go out for a close look at the other ships and for some sailing.
