As days are getting shorter, we try to bring light into the darkness – literally. As soon as Christmas comes along, you will spot lots of illuminated canal bridges and trees in gardens throughout the country. But not only Christmas lights up the streets in The Hague region; amazing lightshows will be organised in the city centre of The Hague.
The facades of the monumental Mauritshuis and the iconic Ridderzaal will be lightened up with two fantastic art shows on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday evenings, from 28 November to 21 December. Just like last year, the light show ‘’Old Masters, New Heroes’’ will be projected at the Ridderzaal. The projection will guide you through the highlights in history of our democracy. New this year is the interactive light projection at the Mauritshuis. You can change the paintings yourself and Meet the Masters of the Mauritshuis. Please note, this event may be cancelled in the event of bad weather.
On Saturday 14 December, a new walking event through the Hague resort will lighten up your dark December evening. Various artists collaborated to create spectacular light, sound and fire acts, which you will encounter during the Scheveningen Light Walk. Start at Scheveningen Pier, walk along the beach, through the dunes, forest, parks, famous Scheveningen districts, the harbour and then finish at De Pier.
From 28 November to 21 December, from 18:00hrs to 22:00hrs.
