Learning Dutch in The Hague region

"Hoi! Hoe gaat het met jou?"

Moving to a new country often brings a challenge in the form of a language barrier. While Dutch can seem overwhelming at first, especially the Dutch pronunciation of the letter 'g', you might soon find that the language is not as difficult as you thought at first. In fact, Dutch and English, together with German and the Scandinavian languages, belong to the same language family of Germanic languages. You may be able to figure out the meaning of a number of Dutch words purely because of their similarity with English. But you may want more than that.

While almost everyone in The Hague will be happy to speak English (well!) with you, many internationals choose to make an active effort to learn the local language. Learning Dutch has many benefits – you will be able to interact with people more easily, be more independent, and break the ice between you and your Dutch colleagues, giving you a chance to integrate.
