The Hague International Centre is the point of contact for foreign employees of international organisations situated in the Hague region. From the centre the municipalities of The Hague, Leidschendam-Voorburg, Rijswijk, and Delft, in association with the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) and non-profit organisation ACCESS, offer complete service with a ‘one-stop-shop’ formula. We make sure to give newcomers a good reception into The Hague.

 

What will you do?

Together with a small communications team, it will be your job to put The Hague International Centre on the map.

You understand the target group like no other, and you know what is needed to feel at home in The Hague region. With your colleague’s, a network of Service providers, employers, internal and external stakeholders, you expand brand awareness. Through your connections in the international working sphere, you know what is important, what should be communicated to the target audience and when. You provide the right information to the right places and share your information and knowledge with your colleague’s to create the right content.

As a team you will work on different newsletters, the website, welcome booklets, events, Webinars, fairs, pr-materials, (online) campaigns, and projects for different target audiences among The Hague’s newcomers. You cater to their different needs.

Your daily work:

  • you contribute to the development, initiation, shaping and carrying out of the pr, marketing, and communications policies;
  • you independently advise and support in the field of both executive and strategic communication while including the relevant stakeholders;
  • you partake in internal and external work- and project groups and research. To these you make substantive contributions, give advice and support based on your knowledge.

  • a 32-hour workweek with a salary of minimum €3.090,- and maximum €4.671,- per month (scale 10). This is based a full workweek (36 hours);
  • a fixed-term employment contract of 12 months with the possibility of an extension or a permanent employment contract;

What do we ask?
You are an experienced and creative allrounder in the fields of communications, marketing, pr, and events. You have at least 5 years of experience in organizing events, spearheading projects, and in the writing of newsletters for various audiences.

You are both a thinker and a doer, you have no problem switching from an advising role to an executing role, and you have a hands-on mentality. You can enthuse and convince people to take action. You have good communication skills, are creative, and you have the social skills to network with and connect others. You like to take initiative, you are result-oriented and always looking for ways to improve communications in cooperation with various internal and external stakeholders. You are a team player, and you have a feel for governmental processes and relationships. Knowledge about the international working sphere is preferred. The end goal is to enhance The Hague’s position as an attractive and hospitable city.

Your English level (reading, writing and speaking) is a minimum of C1, but our preference goes to a native speaker. Your Dutch level is a minimum of B1.
