International School Delft opens a secondary school

Published

In August of this year, International School Delft (ISD) will open a secondary school. The new school will be a welcome addition to the already successful international primary school in Delft. ISD will enable international employees and their families, with children from 4 to 18 years old, to benefit from excellent education at one school in the centre of the international community in the Delft region.

Good to know:

  • The International School Delft welcomes students who have a non-Dutch passport and of whom one or both parents work in The Netherlands. The school also welcomes Dutch students, who have been in a school abroad for a minimum of two years or whose parents will go abroad to work within the short term.
  • The school works with the high-quality International Baccalaureate curriculum. Primary offers the Primary Years Programme. Secondary will start offering the Middle Years Programme for the years 1 and 2, this will be extended year by year to the full curriculum. At this moment, students between the age of 4 to 14 years old may apply to the school.
  • There is a close connection with Delft and the Delft University of Technology; innovation, technology, sustainability, history and art are essential elements of the programme.
  • Primary is located in a building on the campus of Delft University at Jaffalaan. During the first few years, the Secondary will be accommodated in an existing school building at Colijnlaan in Delft, within walking distance from the city centre. This building is in the process of being converted into an engaging learning environment with all the necessary facilities. In the near future, the aim is for the Secondary to be accommodated in a new building in the immediate neighbourhood of the primary school.
  • The secondary school has engaged a core team of highly-experienced and dedicated international educators and teachers with additional staff being recruited.
  • The new secondary school is being received with great enthusiasm by parents, students and international companies and organisations. Student enrollment is well under way!
  • The subsidy from the Ministry of Education allows both primary and secondary schools to offer high-quality education with affordable school fees.
