Embassy Festival 2026: Discover the world in The Hague

Published

On Saturday 5 September, from 12:00 to 20:00 hrs, the Lange Voorhout once again becomes a meeting place for cultures from around the world. The yearly Embassy Festival brings together different international organisations, including embassies, international communities, cultural organisations, performers and culinary exhibitors. During the festival you can enjoy an international market, several music stages and have a lot of fun with the provided Activity Passport.

Discover the world in one day!
At the International Market, walking along the Lange Voorhout feels like travelling from country to country. Visitors can taste their way around the world, from Georgian wines and cuisine, South African flavours and Hungarian specialities to Argentine empanadas, Mexican food, Lebanese wines and Canadian cupcakes. Alongside all these flavours, the exhibitors bring their cultures to life through traditions, stories, crafts and encounters.

A passport that needs no border crossing
This year, visitors can pick up a free Activity Passport and explore the International Market from stand to stand, completing cultural activities and collecting stamps along the way. Each participating standholder or embassy offers an activity that let visitors experience something distinctive about their culture. You can for example try South Africa’s unforgettable Bokdrol Spoeg, discover Qatar’s pearl-diving heritage, learn Serbian Kolo dance steps, experiment with traditional Ukrainian printing or explore unique Japanese traditions. The Passport turns the market into a fun cultural journey full of unexpected discoveries.

Two stages, a world of sound
Across the different music stages, the journey continues! Folk in Motion brings traditional and contemporary dance and music from countries including Georgia, Mexico, Vietnam, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Bolivia. At the Harmony Hub, visitors can move from Japanese Taiko and Moroccan Gnawa, to Estonian jazz, Ukrainian a cappella and Pakistani live music. The day ends with Yellofox: The Embassy Sessions, bringing together The Hague and international influences in the spirit of Embassy Festival.
