Praat Nederlands Day
On Thursday, 26 November 2026, Praat Nederlands Day is going national! International centres across the Netherlands are joining forces to encourage internationals to practise Dutch, use the language in everyday situations, and discover opportunities to continue learning.
Whether you have just started learning Dutch or already feel comfortable having a conversation, Praat Nederlands Day is all about giving it a try. You don't have to speak perfect Dutch. The goal is simple: use the Dutch you already know and build your confidence along the way.
Learning Dutch is about more than grammar and vocabulary. It can help you connect with neighbours, colleagues and local communities, participate more fully in everyday life and feel more at home in the Netherlands. Yet for many internationals, finding opportunities to practise outside the classroom can be challenging. Praat Nederlands Day helps lower that barrier by creating welcoming, informal and fun opportunities to speak Dutch in real-life settings.
Across The Hague, a wide range of activities will be organised for different language levels and interests, including walking tours, workshops, conversation sessions, cultural activities, games, trial lessons and networking opportunities.
Programme Highlights
Throughout the afternoon, The Hague International Centre and local partners will offer a variety of activities designed to help internationals practise Dutch in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Activities will take place between 12:00 and 22:00, giving participants multiple opportunities to join throughout the day.
Praat Nederlands Day in our city will conclude with a special edition of our Welcome to The Hague event, featuring a fun and accessible pub quiz in very easy Dutch. Whether you're just starting your Dutch language journey or looking to build confidence in everyday conversations, it will be a great way to end the day while meeting fellow internationals and putting your Dutch skills into practise.
