Registration for international students
September is the start of a new academic semester and universities in The Hague region will be welcoming new international students. Before the courses begin, it is important as a student to take care of all the necessary formalities, such as municipal registration.
New international students have to make an appointment for municipal registration. To officially live and study here, you need to register with the municipality and get your BSN (Citizen Service Number). It’s an essential step—without it, you can’t open a bank account, get health insurance, or work a student job!
🗓️ How to make an appointment
At the beginning of each semester, The Hague holds special registration days for newly-arriving students. Students can make appointments at the bottom of this page. The first available appointments will be on 25 August. Registration takes place at The Hague International Centre, on the ground floor in City Hall.
Book your appointment for student municipal registration
Please try to book the appointment with a personal e-mail account, such as Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail or Yahoo. We are experiencing issues with corporate and university e-mail accounts.
📍Location: The Hague International Centre, City Hall (Spui 70, 2511 BT, The Hague). Look for signs near Primera and Coffee Fellows on the ground floor in City Hall.
