Student life and organisations
Of course, there’s a lot more to being a student than just studying. In The Hague region, there are plenty of opportunities to see more of the world and meet new people.
Student life in The Hague
In The Hague there is a wide range of museums, theatres, music venues, restaurants and shops in the city centre. Festivals are held in The Hague all year round, and you can participate in all kinds of sports here, too. The city is located by the sea, so the beach with its cafés and the Scheveningen boulevard are within easy reach.
Student life in Delft
Delft has a reputation for being a student-friendly city; bars and terraces along the canals and on the city squares, quirky shops, affordable restaurants and great cinemas. It is easy to find your way around as everything is close together. Delft is bursting with activity from spring right through to autumn, including music festivals and street theatre.
A great way to quickly get to know people and build up a network in your new city is to join a student organisation. Both The Hague and Delft have many options to choose from.
The international spirit of The Hague’s students can be seen everywhere, but perhaps the most among its student organisations. No matter what holds your interest, you can be assured that there is a group that will welcome you with open arms.
Delft has a reputation as a university city with an active student life. No other university city has so many active student associations. You can also join a study association. Study associations are linked to a degree programme – this does not apply to student associations.
