The Hague Summer Introduction Programmes for Students  

Get ready to dive into The Hague's student life! As the start of the fall semester is just around the corner, it's a perfect time to get acquainted with the city and community you will start your studies in. There are two fantastic introduction weeks that are both informative and very fun!  HOP (The Hague Orientation Programme) and HI the Hague are student introduction weeks full of activities and events that will help you meet other students and to get to know your new home, the vibrant city of the Hague! 

HOP – The Hague Orientation Programme (21 –25 August 2023) 

Organised by Leiden University, HOP takes place in both Leiden and Den Haag. This orientation week is geared towards incoming first year bachelor and master students of Leiden University in the Hague campus and Leiden University College. The programme is tailor-made to help you learn more about your study, your city, and meet and mingle with fellow students. Expect info-packed markets, delicious food, epic parties, engaging workshops, and more! 

The Hague International Centre will also be at the HOP information market on Wednesday 23 August from 12:00 – 18:00 hrs to answer any questions about moving to and settling in the Hague region as an international student. We are handing out our Student Guide with specifically curated information for international students. Stop by to say hello and grab a guide! HOP takes place from Monday 21 to Friday 25 August and you can register at HOPweek and receive updates on their Instagram page @hopweek.  

HI the Hague (28 August – 2 September) 

This citywide introduction week organised by students from the Hague will show you all the great gems our city has to offer. The programme is also packed with introduction parties, sports, music, art, theatre, film, food, drinks, and information about language and health so it's a great way to meet new people. It starts from Monday 28 August till Saturday 2 September and updates are posted on HI The Hague (studyinthehague.com) and on their Instagram page @hithehague.  

Both of these introduction weeks are specifically designed to help incoming students find their way in their new home, explore and become comfortable travelling and studying in The Hague, and forge friendships with fellow students.
